Stresnil 0.5 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Alprazolam and melatonin, which helps you sleep. Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain and induces sleep. Melatonin is a natural hormone which helps to regulate the sleep-wake cycle.
How to use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Stresnil 0.5 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Interactions / Warnings
Take caution while taking medicine if you are suffering from liver disease. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
