Alcohol CAUTION It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Metoprolol. Taking Metoprolol with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. warnings Pregnancy WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS Metoprolol may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor. warnings Lactation Metoprolol is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby. warnings Driving Metoprolol may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive. warnings Kidney SAFE Metoprolol is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Metoprolol is recommended. warnings Liver CAUTION Metoprolol should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Metoprolol may be needed.
