Alcohol CAUTION Lamotrigine may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol. warnings Pregnancy WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS Lamotrigine may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor. warnings Lactation Lamotrigine is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby. Monitor the baby for rash, sleepiness or poor sucking. Also, get the platelet count and liver function test done periodically. warnings Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Lamotrigine can cause dizziness and double vision. This may affect your ability to drive. warnings Kidney CAUTION Lamotrigine should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease.
