Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby. warnings Driving It is not known whether Sevelamer alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react. warnings Kidney SAFE Sevelamer is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Sevelamer is recommended. However, regular monitoring of calcium levels is advisable in these patients. warnings Liver Sevelamer is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease.
