How it works
Rosuvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA-reductase) that is required by the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides, and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL).

Alcohol CAUTION It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Rosuvastatin. Taking alcohol with Rosuvastatin increases the chances of liver dysfunction. warnings Pregnancy CAUTION Rosuvastatin is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the fetus. Please consult your doctor. warnings Lactation CAUTION Rosuvastatin is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby. warnings Driving SAFE Rosuvastatin does not usually affect your ability to drive. warnings Kidney CAUTION Rosuvastatin should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Rosuvastatin may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Rosuvastatin is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. warnings Liver CAUTION Rosuvastatin should be used with caution in patients with liver disease.
