Alcohol CAUTION Oxcarbazepine may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol. warnings Pregnancy WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS Oxcarbazepine may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor. warnings Lactation CAUTION Oxcarbazepine is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby. Baby should be monitored for excessive sleepiness and weight gain. warnings Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Oxcarbazepine may make you feel sleepy or dizzy, or may cause blurred vision, lack of muscle coordination, especially when starting treatment or increasing the dose. This may affect your driving ability. warnings Kidney CAUTION Oxcarbazepine should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Oxcarbazepine may be needed. Please consult your doctor. warnings Liver Oxcarbazepine should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Oxcarbazepine may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Dose adjustment is not recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.
