It is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.

Consuming alcohol with It does not cause any harmful side effects. It is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies. It is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby. Avoid prolonged use of It, since it may have possible effects such as rash and diarrhea. It may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. It may cause a headache, dizziness, nervousness, sleeplessness, and fatigue, therefore the ability to drive may be influenced. It should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of It may be needed. Please consult your doctor. It is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data aVialable suggests that dose adjustment of It may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Urinary tract infections caused by E. coli; P. mirabilis, and Klebsiella species. Skin and skin structure infections caused by staphylococci and/or streptococci. Pharyngitis and/or tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes (Group A beta-hemolytic streptococci).
